About Sheffield SCITT
The Sheffield SCITT (School-centred initial teacher training) is owned and run by Notre Dame High School, Sheffield.
We will provide:
Four days in school from the beginning of September. During time in school you will be guided by an experienced mentor.
One day per week you will join other teacher trainees to be trained on aspects such as how to walk and talk like a teacher, plan lessons effectively, behaviour management and how to really stretch and challenge students.
Secondary trainees will spend September to December in the ‘Home School’. From December to Easter you will have the opportunity to experience life in a contrasting secondary school. From Easter to the end of the programme you will return to your initial school.
For the PGCE route this is delivered through the University of Hull. You will spend approximately 3 days over the year with your tutors from the University of Hull. Usually based at Notre Dame in Sheffield / virtually.
The Sheffield SCITT only provides Un-Salaried courses.
